The Rock

Eastern Pelion is indeed a great place for seascape photography. It has several beaches around and each of them has its own beauty. They have some interesting and different rock formations which give you the opportunity to create interesting frames. The place I took this image is called Paltsi and it’s situated 55km from the city I live, Volos. The rock in the picture has almost the shape of a fin and can give you some great compositions in combination with a colorful sky. The ” bad ” thing visiting and taking photos of these places is that you have to wake up really early if you want to catch up the sunrise because it’s one hour drive by car. I took this image during a cold autumn morning almost half hour before the sunrise with the Nikon D610 and the Nikkor 20mm f/1.8G ED and it’s a single exposure. Settings I used to take this image are : 30sec – f/9 – ISO 100 and I used a 6stop ND filter.
